The Brain-Machine Interface Laboratory (BMIsLab) develop research within the digital health field.  Thus, the BMIsLab use artificial intelligence Brain-Machine Interfaces (BMIs) technologies to develop solutions for healthcare and identifying the ethical, social and legal implications of using these technologies. The BMIsLab also develop several other applications for BMI systems, including navigation in virtual environments, computer games and multisensory stimulation devices in order to optimize BMI healthcare applications for several clinical conditions. In short, the BMIsLab aim is to test BMI healthcare applications in healthy users and several patient populations (e.g., spinal cord injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, locked-in syndrome, Alzheimer, etc.) and their purposes go towards the increase individual’s independence, improved their quality of life and reduce social costs.
