É Doutorada em Neurociências pela Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa, Mestre em Psicologia do Desenvolvimento e Licenciada em Psicologia pela Faculdade de Psicologia da Universidade de Lisboa.

Desde 2004 que se dedica à intervenção psicológica no âmbito da dor crónica, sendo especialista em Psicoterapia na Myos, Associação Nacional contra a Fibromialgia e Síndrome de Fadiga Crónica.

Atualmente, é também investigadora do Centro de Investigação Interdisciplinar em Saúde (CIIS) onde estuda o impacto das emoções nos mecanismos da dor aguda e da dor crónica.
