Graduated in Medicine from Coimbra University in 1984. Started intership in 1985 at Hospital Distrital de Viseu. In January 1987 started specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology (six years intership) and finished his specialty training in 1993 at Hospitais da Universidade de Coimbra. Worked as Assistente Hospitalar de Ginecologia e Obstetrícia from January 1993 to September 1993 at Hospitais da Universidade de Coimbra and from then on at Hospital Distrital de Viseu (Hospital de S. Teotonio). From 12 May 1999 to present works as Consultor de Ginecologia e Obstetricia at Centro Hospital de Tondela Viseu (Hospital de S. Teotonio). In October 2012 started higher studies at Universidade de Aveiro and completed his PhD in 26 October 2016 with his thesis "Psychosocial And Clinical Characteristics Predicting Women’s Acceptance Of Office Hysteroscopy"
