Ana Sofia Duarte

Professor Auxiliar

Doutorada em Bioquímica (2006) pela Universidade de Aveiro, é atualmente professora na Universidade Católica Portuguesa, ICS-Viseu. A sua experiência como docente inclui a lecionação de disciplinas em diversos cursos e orientação de vários alunos de doutoramento e mestrado.

Os atuais interesses de investigação focam os mecanismos moleculares envolvidos na citotoxicidade e virulência de microrganismos e potencial biotecnológico a estes associados. Também tem desenvolvido estudos para caracterização de biomateriais (polímeros e nanopartículas) em diversas aplicações, nomeadamente no que diz respeito à biocompatibilidade dos materiais e suas propriedades antimicrobianas, para aplicação médica. Possui formação complementar em valorização da propriedade intelectual e divulgação de ciência. Tem participado em diferentes iniciativas que visam comunicar ciência nas várias vertentes, desde a transferência de tecnologia à valorização social e académica da ciência.
